The Clever Wife of the 1960s Chapter 39 (Part 1)
Han Guobin and Chen Rou both went to bed late. It was the eldest son, Han Hang, who woke up to put on his clothes and woke up his parents: "Dad, Mom, we still have to share the meat today. Come back and go back to sleep!"
Chen Rou turned over and continued to sleep, saying, "Guo Bin, take the boss to divide the meat."
"Okay." Han Guobin leaned over and kissed his wife on the cheek.
The eldest brother Han Hang stared in surprise, he saw his father kissing his mother!
Han Guobin smiled and gave one to his son.
The eldest brother, Han Hang, covered his forehead and blushed, "It's okay at home, but when we go out, Dad, don't kiss me. I'm this old!" Although he was happy in his heart, he was not as young as his younger brothers and sisters!
"Okay." Han Guobin rubbed his head.
The father and son came out to brush their teeth and drink water, carrying the basin.
The village is already very lively. How could it not be lively on the day of distributing meat? Since the slack season during farming, every household has been looking forward to this day.
Seeing the father and son come out but Chen Rou was missing, the fierce wife of the noble family said, "Uncle Guobin, where is Hanghang's mother? You should not be so vicious as soon as you see meat since you haven't been home for two months."
Both men and women couldn't help laughing.
"My daughter was making a fuss last night, and she was the one who got up to comfort her, but she hasn't woken up yet." Han Guobin said without blushing or breathing heavily.
"You have no shame and say anything shameless." Mrs. Han rolled her eyes at Dagui's wife.
Dagui's wife came over and whispered, "I heard from Shuanzi's wife that Hanghang's mother sent a bag of brown sugar over, but she didn't even get a good word from the old house!"
"When did you hear about it?" asked Mrs. Han.
"Shuanzi's wife told me yesterday when she came to my house to make shoe soles." Dagui's wife said, "The old lady thought it was too little and scolded Hanghang and told him to get out."
"That old lady never complains about not having enough. She is just the kind-hearted person of the second son. If it were me, I would give her nothing but 30 kilograms of food!" said Mrs. Han.
Dagui's wife said, "Speaking of which, Hanghang's mother has been paying respects to the old house a lot in recent years."
Han's mother often complained in the village, saying that the first and second wives were unfilial, especially the second wife, who had such a high salary but didn't even buy some nutritional supplements to show her filial piety!
But no one in the village dared to say that Brother Han, Sister-in-law Han, Han Guobin and Chen Rou were unfilial, especially Han Guobin. In addition to food, there were other supplies sent over every year, and the villagers were aware of this.
Mrs. Han said, "Except for the fact that the stitches on the second uncle's house are a little too big, there is nothing else to pick. Don't think that my second uncle's family is getting better and better. I guess it's all because of her kind and amiable personality that brings her good fortune."
Although many villagers envied the big brick house, not many gossiped about it. This was all thanks to the way her second brother and sister-in-law behaved.
Mrs. Han felt that she could not do that. Sometimes people said sarcastic words in front of her younger brother and sister-in-law, but she was always very friendly. She thought that when encountering such a situation, she should just fight back on the spot and not be polite. But thinking about it afterwards, it is better to resolve a feud than to create one.
The second daughter's personality is not easy to handle, but as long as it's not excessive, she won't take it to heart, won't hold grudges, and she knows what's going on.
Isn't it true that even she, who used to be jealous of her, is now willing to help her with anything?
Everyone else is pretty much like her.
Dagui’s wife used to be jealous, but after changing tickets twice, she is no longer jealous.
While the two were whispering, Han Guobin had already divided the meat with his boss Han Hang, and this year they didn't get much either.
Two ribs and a piece of meat are gone. There are really not many work points this year.
However, Han Guobin did not despise it. He took these things and was about to go back with his eldest son. However, the eldest son said that he would not go back yet and he would stay to continue watching the fun.
Han Guobin ignored him and took the basin home.
He did not go in to disturb his wife's sleep. He went to the kitchen to boil water and cut meat and cabbage. His wife was making dough in the house. She had made it before going to bed last night. He went in to bring it out and knead the dough.
Then we steamed the buns.
He was working alone in the kitchen.
Chen Rou, on the other hand, slept with her second child and little daughter until about 7:30 before getting up.
"Mom, where are my dad and my older brother?" Han Zhou, with his hair in disarray, was very happy to lie in his mother's arms.
"Let's go and divide the meat." Chen Rou said casually.
"Divide the meat?" Han Zhou was stunned, then he remembered that they still had to divide the meat today. He quickly got up, took the clothes from the head of the kang and put them on himself. He didn't use his mother's clothes to put them on himself. After he put them on himself, he got off the kang along the small stool beside the kang and ran out.
Chen Rou took her watch and looked at the time. It was getting late, so she got up.
Han Zhou ran out and heard the noise from the kitchen, so he went into the kitchen and asked his father when he saw him, "Dad, did you guys share the meat?"
"We broke up." Han Guobin said.
"Dad, why didn't you call me up!" Han Zhou said immediately.
"It's still lively outside. Your brother is outside." Han Guobin said.
The second oldest brother, Han Zhou, did not delay and hurried out to watch the fun. When he saw his eldest brother there, he ran over and complained to his eldest brother that he did not even call him to help share the meat!
"I didn't call you because you were sleeping so soundly." Han Hang said.
"Then you must call me next time when you divide the meat. I forgot because I was sleeping!" Han Zhou said.
"Okay, I'll call you next time." Han Hang said.
Han Si and Han Bo came over and said, "Grandma said she made some dough last night, so she'll make us some buns today. Brother Hang, Zhou Zhou, come and eat together!"
"That was made for you by grandma. There's no place for us." said the second son Han Zhou.
"Yes, I'll get it for you!" Han Si said.
"No, if grandma sees us, she will beat us. We have our own at home." Han Hang also said.
The two brothers went back not long after they stayed there. Han Si took Han Bo back immediately and will bring one over for Brother Hang later!
"Dad, can we make dumplings at home too?" The second son Han Zhou couldn't help but asked greedily.
"Let's do it tomorrow. There's not enough meat today. Buy more tomorrow and I'll make big meat buns for you then." Han Guobin said.
"Okay!" The two brothers' eyes lit up when they heard this.
Chen Rou came into the kitchen and said, "Have you brushed your teeth? Let's get ready for dinner."
The second brother Zhou Zhou hadn't done it yet, so he poured some hot water and soaked in cold water to brush his teeth. The two brothers each had a toothbrush, which they treasured very much.
After sending the boss Han Hang away, Han Guobin hugged his wife and said, "Wife, you have worked hard."
Chen Rou rolled her eyes at him. Men’s words can be deceiving. Why didn’t he say thank you for her hard work when they were arguing endlessly last night?
She didn't want it anymore, but he still coaxed her to accept it.
"It's broad daylight, you better pay attention." Chen Rou pinched his waist and sent him away.
But he was already busy enough, so she basically didn't need to intervene.
"I don't get much. I'll go to Lao Yang to buy some tonight." Han Guobin said.
Chen Rou nodded and told him not to forget the two iron pots.
"Are you at home today? If you are, let me use your bicycle. I'm going to my fourth sister's house." Chen Rou said.
Send a thermos ticket to her fourth sister.
"You go ahead, I'm at home." Han Guobin said.
Chen Rou planned to go to her fourth sister's house. She had bean flour buns with cabbage and pork stew for breakfast. After eating, Chen Rou did not go out immediately because she was waiting for little girl Orange.
The little girl woke up at around eight o'clock. Chen Rou fed her some food and then handed her over to her father. She took two bags of brown sugar with her and went out.
The eldest brother Han Hang and the second brother Han Zhou wanted to follow, but their mother wouldn't let them.
Not long after Chen Rou left the house, Han Si from the third room brought a bun to his brother Hang.
"Didn't grandma beat you?" Han Hang asked in surprise.
"I said I ate it by myself, so your mother didn't hit me. Brother Hang, you eat it." Han Si said.
Han Zhou looked greedy and asked, "Are you really giving it to my brother?"
"You can eat it too." Han Si said generously.
Han Hang was not polite and broke half of it for his brother. While eating, he said, "The buns are delicious."
"That's right, the milk contains a lot of meat." Han Si said.
"My dad said that my family will also make dumplings tomorrow, and I will give you one then," Han Hang said.
"There are a lot of milk buns. There will be enough for everyone at home tomorrow. I don't want yours." Han Si said.
"Then what do you want?" Han Zhou asked his cousin, asking if he was stupid if he didn't even want a meat bun.
"Brother Hang, are you guys still going to play sandbag throwing today?" Han Si said, "Take me with you."
Because of his grandmother, the kids in the village don’t like to play with him. Last time, he was playing the game of knocking with other kids and his grandmother happened to see him getting knocked down. His grandmother immediately scolded the other kids.
There was also the case of throwing sandbags and hitting people on the head. His grandmother scolded him several times.
So much so that the children in the village refused to play with him.
Han Hang was also a little worried and said, "If you fall later, your grandmother will come over and scold my mother."
"Second uncle is back, grandma definitely won't dare to come over." Han Si said.
